This book story about Euchema cottonii is a group of seaweeds us in the production of carrageenan. This type of seaweed is cultivated in the sea by using longline method. Euchema cottonii seaweed has a cylindrical physic form. It is cultived by using a plastic rope tied a long rope anchored to the pole which is plugged in the seabed. Cultivation areas of this type of seaweed are located in costal waters of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (Sabang); West Sumatera (Pesisir Selatan, Mentawai); Riau Islands (Bintan, Batam); South Sumatera; Bangka Belitung; Banten (Serang, Ujung Kulon); Thousands Islands; Center Java (Karimunjawa, Jepara); East Java (Situbondo, Madura dan Banyuwangi); Bali (Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan); (East Kalimantan: Maluku (P.Seram, Halmahera, Kep.Aru dan Kei); Papua.
